As I have developed this space using Discourse as a platform, I have remained confident about its general suitability to the task. But there are still several things that I would love to see added to make it even better for the purpose. In addition to the “Could be better” section of the Why Discourse? topic, here are a few things I find myself wishing I had in Discourse…
- Wiki-style linking, i.e. [[ ]], with in-line auto-complete
- A “network” or “graph” view
- Tag cloud support
- Support for relative links (this would more easily facilitate internal vs. external link styling)
- To be clear you can use relative links and they work fine, you just have to format them manually and you end up fighting the built-in linking system a little
